Gatundu Southern MP Moses Kuria and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo dumped Vice President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza less than two months before the August 9 general election.
In a joint letter, Kuria and Kabogo announced that they will no longer participate in any Kenya Kwanza demonstrations because UDA politicians would receive preferential treatment courtesy of Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua.
The duo also blamed parliamentarian Kikuyu Kimani Ichungwah for hiring a UDA committee to cut ties with Chama Cha Kazi and Tujibebe Party.
According to Kuria and Kabogo, the same pattern was used to humiliate Service Party (TSP) leader Mwangi Kiunjuri in June 2022 in Nyahururu and Nanyuki in front of coalition leaders DP Ruto, Kuria and President Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi.
“On the same day, a meeting of all Kiambu County UDA aspirants was convened in Karen and chaired by DP Ruto and running mate Rigathi Gachagua to plan an activation of the Hustler Express and a large demonstration in Ndumberi on Saturday 18th. June 2022. Neither party was invited to that planning meeting, “the letter added.
“On 13 9t, 2022, Moses in the constituency of Thika Town invited the kenya kwanza MCAs, including those of the UDA. On the eve of the activation, the Hon. Alice Nganga called all the UDA aspirants warning them not to participate activation and that there is no party called Kenya Kwanza “, the letter reads in part.
The letter was addressed to Kenyan co-princes Kwanza, DP Ruto, National Congress head Amani Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya equal to Moses Wetangula.
To address the nervousness in Kenya, Kwanza, Kuria and Kabogo have requested an immediate meeting with all the leaders of the Kenya Kwanza alliance to address the problems.
