ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna spoke today about the plans for the zoning of the country and in particular the city of Nairobi.
He noted that having many Azimio candidates in one area would give their opponents an advantage.
For example, he said that in an area like Nairobi, they’ve already talked to musician Bahati about withdrawing his offer for ODM’s Antony Oluoch. In case it doesn’t accept, then they will have to decamp it as a coalition.
He then said that there are plans to persuade aspirants to give up and support other aspirants.
This is a proposal that has been rejected by most aspirants competing in areas where those parties, while still allies of Azimio, are not as popular as others.
Since the IEBC had already compiled a list of applicants, Sifuna now says their plan will be to decamp those who refuse to pick up.
