With only few days remaining to August 9th polls, presidential candidate Azimio Raila Odinga and UDA’s William Ruto are now banking to information technology (IT) experts to safeguard their votes.
DP William Ruto’s head of IT experts is former cabinet secretary for energy and oil, Mr. Davis Chirchir, who also served as director of information technology in the defunct IIEC.
He was accused of soliciting millions from British companies in exchange for offers to print ballot papers.
In 2017 he was appointed by the Jubilee party as presidential chief agent. After the polls, Raila Odinga, party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement, accused Chirchir of hacking IEBC servers and tampering with the transmission of the results.
With IEBC going digital on everything, Vice President William Ruto is banking on Chirchir, who is also his chief of staff to safeguard and monitor Kenya Kwanza’s votes.
