Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga on Wednesday, July 6, speaking during an election rally in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s native county of Kiambu, threatened to boycott the general elections scheduled for August 9.
Coalition presidential candidate Azimio la Umoja One Kenya has threatened to boycott the elections if the Electoral and Independent Borders Commission does not use the manual register.
Odinga said the electorate must embrace the use of the electronic register of voters and the manual register.
Agwambo added that if the Electoral and Independent Borders Commission does not comply, there will be no elections on 9 August.
“With a manual register it will be easy to tell how many people voted in each polling station. There is no trace left in the electronic register.
That is why we are saying that there must be a manual register in every polling station, otherwise there will be no elections, “said Raila Odinga.
